South Bank is located on the Brisbane River and is within walking distance to Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) and the Brisbane Exhibition Centre. Both these venues offer a variety of shows that change throughout the year. Also in Southbank is the Wheel of Brisbane, I giant Ferris wheel that offers spectacular views of South Bank, the Brisbane River and the Brisbane CBD. Want to get into the CBD? From Southbank you can ride one of Brisbane’s famous City Cat ferries and see some of the best vistas the city has to offer.
On the Gold Coast, you can’t go wrong with Surfers Paradise. With a phenomenal range of attractions, stunning beaches and an incredible night life it is truly a must-see destination. With a wide variety of restaurants, pubs, bars and night clubs all within easy walking distance it’s a great place to see no matter the time. During the day, the Beach is spectacular offering beautiful golden sand. In the mall there is Ripley’s Believe It or Not and just down the road is the Sky Point Observation lookout. Then, just a few minutes’ drive away, is The STAR Casino Gold Coast featuring wonderful shows and dining options.
Looking for something a bit more leisurely, away from the crowds? Why not consider the Gold Coast Hinterland? With multiple observation areas offer stunning views of Brisbane and the Gold Coast it well worth a look. Picnicking at O’Reillys Rainforest Retreat or having a BBQ and Wine tasting at the O’Reillys Canungra Valley Vineyard are both wonderful considerations. You can also take an Alpaca for a walk or just chill out by the river watching the fish and turtles.
